WebSpace Viewer/Navigator for the Internet
WebSpace was developed using the open Inventor toolkit and supports viewing of Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) and Open Inventor files on the Internet. WebSpace is an add-on module for text-based browsers and allows 3-D navigation of the net via the World-Wide Web (WWW).
Open Inventor is the basis for the Virtual Reality Modeling Language, the standard for graphics on the Internet. TGS co-developed VRML 1.0 and WebSpace with Silicon Graphics. The Open Inventor file format (.iv) is also being considered as the basis for future ANSI/ISO metafile conditions.
TGS has the premier Open Inventor for Windows NT and 95, supporting 100% of the API, features, look and feel of the UNIX versions. TGS is unique in supporting the libSoXT component library while offering libSoWin32 and libSoMFC for tighter integration into the Windows environment.
TGS is providing Open Inventor, VRML and WebSpace on all non-SGI UNIX platforms (AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, Digital UNIX), as well as all Windows (3.1, NT, 95), Apple Power Mac and OS/2 systems.
Applications developed using Open Inventor from TGS automatically take advantage of the graphics acceleration provided by 3-D graphics boards.
